Saint Sebastian, tied to the tree, survived the execution. Saint Irene finds him and carefully extracts the arrows from his body (his iconographic symbol). A young woman helps her. Sebastian raises his head to the sky, where two heads of putti appear. The elegantly intricate figures combine the aesthetics of 17th century Mannerism with the colourism of Rococo.
